SUMMARY:“A Great Day In Harlem”
DESCRIPTION:Our first major public outdoor event. The day will begin at 12 Noon with the opening of the International Village featuring vendors and exhibitors with items for sale ranging from arts & crafts\, jewelry\, clothing\, unique accessories\, international foods and more. Entertainment from the stage is presented in four segments. 1. Artz\, Rootz & Rhythm featuring local\, community and emerging performers of varying genres. 2. The Gospel Caravan featuring local\, national and international gospel performers 3. A Presentation from Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute – A celebration of the diaspora tracing the journey from Africa through the Caribbean and to Harlem.4. Concert Under Under the Stars featuring the HARLEM WEEK All-Star Band led by “Music Director to the stars” Ray Chew joined by national and international performers.Special Musical Salutes to Kool & The Gang and Roberta FlackScheduled performances beginning at 1 PM.
